We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Hantavirus Map infringes your copyright, follow the process below.
What we host
- Code: The Site’s code is open source and hosted on GitHub. See the repository for its license.
- Data: Epidemiological data is sourced from WHO, CDC, ProMED-mail, and other public health bodies. We do not claim ownership of that data.
- Map tiles: Provided by Esri and accessed directly by your browser under Esri’s terms.
Filing a takedown notice
Send a written notice that includes:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material on our Site that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it (page URL, section, screenshot).
- Your contact information (address, phone, email).
- A good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
Where to send it
Email your notice to support@hantavirusmap.site, or open a private issue in the GitHub repository if it relates to code.
Counter-notification
If material was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification with:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the removed material and its previous location.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and phone number, and a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or any district if outside the United States).
Repeat infringers
We will terminate access for repeat infringers where technically feasible and appropriate.
Important note on data
Because the Site republishes aggregated public-health data, many concerns are best directed to the original data publisher (e.g., WHO or CDC). We will remove or correct content promptly when a valid claim is presented.
